Woman says she stopped giving tithes and offerings to church and used the money to build a house for her widowed neighbor
A Kenyan woman, Mary Nkatha, told how she managed to build a house for her widowed neighbor who lived in a dilapidated house.
Nkatha said she secured a lucrative business contract last year and instead of donating to the church, she chose to save money for a house instead.
Speaking to Tuko Kenya, Nkatha said she had stopped giving offerings and tithes to the church and decided to build a house for her neighbor who had been struggling since her husband’s death.
“After thinking about how pastors take advantage of other Kenyans in the name of tithing, I stopped giving to the church and instead saved all that money so I could build a house for my struggling neighbor. “, she said.
Nkatha said that when the idea came to her, she approached the widow who was living in a shack and expressed her interest in building her a better house and she happily agreed.
The house is now complete and her neighbor is now living comfortably
Nkatha said she was still going to church but had stopped giving tithes and offerings.
