Woman dies in Borno IDP camp after giving birth to triplets, husband dies 40 days later

A woman has died after giving birth to triplets at a camp for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Borno State.

Rahma Monguno, son of the late Nigerian former minister and Borno politician, Shettima Ali Monguno, who revealed this on Friday, September 23, said the woman’s husband also died 40 days after her death.

“One of the most touching cases I have ever encountered, because just yesterday we went to a camp to see widows for a loved one who wanted to help,” he wrote.

“These triplets lost their Mother while she was giving birth to them, the Father died exactly 40 days later (may their souls rest in peace)

“They are cared for by the maternal aunt and her daughter, who are also widowed.

“May Almighty God reward and bless everyone involved, and give this family a future beyond their expectations.”
