Woman Cancels Midway Awards Ceremony Because Her Fiancé And Family Won’t Allow Her Child From A Previous Relationship To Live With Them
A South African woman canceled her Lobola (bride price) ceremony midway through because her fiancé and his family would not allow her child from her previous relationship to move in with them.
A recording artist, Thembisile revealed it via Twitter on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.
“I stan this girl. She called off her engagement in the middle of lobola negotiations because her fiancé and his family wouldn’t allow her to move in with her child from her previous relationship,” she said.
“We really should have a conversation about the issues of damage and abandonment that come with being left behind in childhood as your mother marries and has other children. Some of them grow up in being very irritated and angry with their mother because their well-being is not guaranteed,” she added.
