Woman arrested after her husband’s decomposing body was found at their home in Mombasa
Kenyan police have arrested a 28-year-old woman identified as Winnie Anyango for the murder of her 55-year-old husband, Becca Mwamburi, in Likoni, Mombasa.
Becca’s body was found in his home on Monday, November 14, 2022. A police report said he died under mysterious circumstances after a falling out with his wife, Winnie Anyango, on Saturday, November 12.
The woman claimed the man fell and hit a rock on the ground after a misunderstanding around 8:00 p.m.
She claimed that after taking refuge with a friend, she returned to see her dead husband.
However, a preliminary police report indicates that the deceased had a deep cut on his neck. He read;
“Officers documented the scene and a bloodstained machete was recovered. The deceased wife was found wearing a bloodstained T-shirt.
Winnie has been taken into custody as investigations into the incident continue. The corpse has been transferred to the Coast General Hospital morgue and is awaiting an autopsy.
