Emmanuel Kanu, brother of detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nmamdi Kanu, has expressed concern over the health of the secessionist agitator.
Nnamdi Kanu is on trial for treason and terrorism, he has denied all charges.
According to Emmanuel, he visited his brother on Monday, September 19 at the Department of State Services, DSS, facility in Abuja where he is being held and the Biafra leader’s health outlook is not good.
“I visited my brother and IPOB Chief Nmamdi Kanu yesterday at the DSS premises in Abuja where he is being held and what I saw did not make me happy.” Emmanuel told the Daily Sun.
He said the IPOB chief had a stomach ache and needed to be properly examined by a specialist.
According to the publication, Emmanuel said it was unfortunate that Kanu was sick at this level and that the DSS would not allow his doctors to examine him.
He alleged that several attempts by the family to have Nnamdi Kanu’s doctors examine him were rebuffed by the DSS.
“My brother has serious stomach problems where he is being held and he needs his specialist doctors to examine him.” Emmanuel said.
