Voter walks out with Pitbull despite police ban on using dog and other pets at polling stations
A photo shared online captured the moment a voter headed out with a pit bull for the gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections despite police banning the use of dogs and other pets in polling stations.
Earlier this month, the police high command banned the use of pets, especially dogs, at polling stations on election day, saying such an act “is contrary to the provisions of the Electoral Act 2022, as amended”.
But a young man who was about to vote shared a photo of himself posing with a pit bull in the Oshodi area of Lagos State. He also issued a warning to thugs, writing, “Situation report!!! Pitbull on hold in Oshodi. Any thugs who attempt to misbehave at any polling station today will be blamed to themselves.
