Update: I killed her after spending the 150,000 naira she gave me to find her an apartment
Benue State Police have arrested the suspected killer of Benue State University undergraduate student Erekaa Dooshima, who disappeared in February and was found dead days later.
LIB had reported that the deceased was found dead on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, three days after her disappearance. It was found that his body was found buried in a shallow grave in a fenced plot near the school.
Following the circumstances surrounding his death, the police intervened and during their investigation arrested a real estate agent, Shagbaor Ugosor Japhet, to whom they gave the sum of 150,000 naira to help him find an apartment.
The Nation reports that after his arrest and questioning, the suspect confessed to killing Dooshima. The suspect said he used the money to place a bet and when he couldn’t provide the house or the money he called the 25-year-old lady and hacked her to death.
“When she came to the dark corner of the street where I called her, I repeatedly cut her with a machete, which resulted in her death. After killing her, I took her body with her iPhone and threw it in the street to make it look like someone else killed her’
Unfortunately for Shagbaor, the POS machine used by Dooshima to make the transfer to him has been located and the suspect arrested.
Police said he would soon be spending his day in court.
