Two men arrested for allegedly raping lady in Lagos

Rapid Response Squad (RRS) officials have arrested two men for allegedly raping a 21-year-old dancer inside a 2017 model Nissan Almera in the Alausa business district of Ikeja.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesman for the State Police Command, said the suspects, Solomon Barry, 37, and Bright Omega, 36, were caught in the act at around 3.45am on Saturday September 10 2022.

RRS officers, who were patrolling the Alausa business district, stopped to check a black Nissan Almera parked at MKO Abiola Gardens Road, Alausa, when they noticed the alleged rape was in progress.

”On closer inspection, officers observed that the lady was unconscious and not responding to police instructions. Officers quickly rounded up the suspects and rushed the lady to RRS headquarters for medical treatment where she regained consciousness.

Investigation revealed that the lady met the suspects at a club around Ikeja Mall, Alausa and then consented to drive into town and stay in a hotel. ”Hundeyin said.

Hundeyin added that RRS Commander, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, while acting on the instruction of Police Commissioner, CP Abiodun Alabi, transferred the matter to the Police Gender Unit, which specializes in handling such cases.
