‘Transvestite’ arrested in Kenya says he harbors ‘feminine feelings since childhood’ (video)
Police have arrested a 21-year-old man posing as a woman in Migori County, Kenya.
The incident happened on Monday, November 14, 2022, after officers from Awendo Police Station noticed the person in female attire, but his physique visibly bore male features.
In a police report, the police summoned the individual and after questioning him, they discovered that he was a man identified as Jared Opiyo Nyatumba, from Homa Bay.
Nyatumba told officers that he dresses like a woman because he had feminine qualities since childhood.
“He alleges that he has harbored feminine feelings since childhood, hence his choice of dress,” police said.
During questioning, police said it was rumored in the town of Awendo that the person who was allegedly behind the recent spate of serial killings in the area and who sometimes disguised himself as a woman had been arrested by officers from the Awendo police station.
This prompted them to come to the police station by the hundreds asking to be allowed to see the suspect.
“The suspect was shown to them through the window of the records office, but they insisted that he be handed over to them for lynching,” the report said.
The charged villagers went on a rampage after their request to hand over the suspect was denied.
“17 motorcycles belonging to the rioters were also seized and are being kept in the station yard. The main impersonator has since been taken away from the station and taken to the CCIO offices in Migori County,” the report said.
