Officers from the National Drug Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, arrested three women and seized packages of cannabis, pentazocine injections and other illicit drugs.

Agency spokesman Femi Babfemi, who disclosed in a statement on Sunday, September 18, said Mary Ugwu and Hawwa Idi were arrested in the town of Anchau in the local government area of Kubau, Kaduna State, with 721 pentazocine injection vials; 37,000 tablets of exol-5 and nine ampoules of injectable diazepam as well as 6.8 kg of rubber solution.

According to the spokesperson, NDLEA officers raided an electronics store in Alaba International Market in Lagos, recovered 972.5kg of cannabis and arrested a 38-year-old woman, Mrs. Ebere Aja .

NDLEA President, Brig. General Mohamed Buba Marwa (retired) congratulated the officers and men of the command for their vigilance and resilience.

He instructed them and others across the country to stay focused as they carry out their daily responsibilities.
