There will be no political campaigning until the ASUU strike is called off

The National Association of Nigerian Students has threatened not to allow any political campaigning to take place nationwide until the Universities Academic Staff Union calls off its seven-month strike.

The announcement was made by National NANS Task Force Chair Ojo Olumide on Wednesday, September 21.

Olumide said the current administration has pushed students into depression and they are tired of it.

He said;

“Our blocking of access to public roads and ports is only a warning. If the government fails to conclude all negotiations and agreements with ASUU within two weeks, they will witness more protests and rallies across the country, they will also witness annoyance, of the anger and frustration of Nigerian students who stayed home. for the last seven months.

“As we promise them that we will not allow any political campaign to take place across the country until we are back in class. This government has pushed so many Nigerian students into depression. We say enough is enough; we can no longer bear the weight of this preventable crisis in the public ivory towers of our nation.
