The 2023 presidential election is the most credible of all time
Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima said the just-concluded presidential election of 2023 is the freest, fair and credible in Nigeria.
Shettima who made this claim during an interview with BBC Hausa, called on the opposition to accept defeat for the sake of Nigeria. He added that those calling for its annulment had failed to prove where the election went wrong.
“To my knowledge, the elections last Saturday were the most free, fair and credible elections Nigeria has ever seen. The election proceeded accordingly, and those seeking the annulment failed to prove where the polls went wrong.
“Our candidate Bola Tinubu was beaten in his state, we did not complain. Since 2003 President Buhari never lost his Katsina state but this time lost it, we did not complain, what do they want us to say?
“In Abia we got 8,914 votes while the Labor Party candidate got 327,995, we didn’t complain, we accepted the results as they were. Labor won in Abuja, Nasarawa and Plateau, in Imo where we have a governor (APC), we got about 60,000 votes.
“As they accept defeat, accept their fate, Allah gives power to whom He wills. What we need now is to unite and develop our nation I am sure former vice president Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi wish this country good luck accept defeat for development of our country.
