Terrorists kidnap 3 passengers along Kaduna-Abuja highway, kill driver and another
Gunmen suspected of being terrorists abducted three passengers along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.
According to the Daily Nigerian, the incident happened on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at a location between the communities of Dikko and Jere, after the car carrying the victims broke down.
It was also found that while they were parked and waiting for a mechanic to come and fix the faulty vehicle, the gunmen beat and killed the driver on the spot.
The terrorists then took away the three passengers.
One of the victims identified as Sadiya Ahmed and her traveling companions allegedly hired a commercial driver for the journey from Abuja.
A family source who spoke to the publication on Monday, November 14 said the bandits contacted them, demanding a ransom of N20 million.
According to the source, the bandits said the victims were taken to a forest in Sarkin Pawa, Niger State.
“They had just passed through Dikko Junction before Jere when the car started to overheat so they had to stop and get a mechanic. It was while waiting for the mechanic that the bandits attacked them,” said The source.
“They killed the driver on the spot and took his body away with the kidnapped victims. They [bandits] called and told us that Hajia Sa’adiya and the other two people had been taken to a forest in Sarkin Pawa. And they demanded the payment of a ransom of 20 million naira by Wednesday,”
In a similar development, terrorists killed a certain Elisha Sympathy Arziki, the secretary of AYU.
According to Facebook user Dalman Victor Yusuf, the victim was killed in Gefe village, Kajuru local government area, Kaduna state.
