Suspects arrested for cutting off a 12-year-old boy’s penis and raping an 8-year-old girl in Kebbi
The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested two suspects who allegedly cut off the penis of a 12-year-old boy and another for raping an 8-year-old girl.
State Commissioner of Police Ahmed Magaji Kontagora revealed this during the parade of some suspected criminals at the police headquarters in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday, October 5, 2022.
The PC revealed that other suspects had been arrested for armed robbery, murder, theft, concealment and burglary.
“On September 24, 2022 at around 12000 hrs, a 12-year-old Ismail Idris ‘m’ from Garin Baka village, Birnin Yauri district of Ngaski LGA was found lying unconscious in a pool of blood along the forests of Unguwar Koda with his manhood (penis) cut off by unknown person(s),” he said.
“The victim was rushed to the Federal Medical Center, Birnin Kebbi, for medical treatment. Upon receipt of the report, a team of detectives were assigned to investigate and they successfully arrested Mansur Musa and Aminu Musa, all “m” from the same address. in connection with the matter. The matter is under investigation and will soon be taken to court after the completion of an investigation,”
The police chief said a certain Danjuma Adamu was arrested in the Koko/Besse local government area of the state for raping an 8-year-old girl.
“On September 16, 2022 at around 1:00 p.m., a 30-year-old Danjuma Adamu alias Tanko ‘m’ from Zariya Kala-Kala village, Koko/Besse LGA suspiciously took an 8-year-old Aisha Faruku ‘f’ from the same address, who was selling bean cake, in the house of one Umaru Dauda and forcefully had sex with her and gave her two hundred naira (N200)
“The suspect later also gave the said Umaru Dauda two hundred naira (N200) for using his room to carry out his evil intent. The matter is still under investigation and will be taken to court as soon as the investigation will be completed.
“Similarly, on September 26, 2022 at around 11:30 a.m., the suspect, a certain Bashir Ibrahim, ‘m’, from Kangiwa town, deceitfully took his unconscious sister, named Hajara Abdullahi, into a drainage and had with force sex with her. The case is being investigated and the suspect will soon be brought to justice,” he said.
Kontagora, also revealed that a man, Bahago Kofa, was killed with a machete by a suspect, Isaac, in Kuraje village, Ngaski LGA of the state, for alleged witchcraft.
“On September 23, 2022 at around 1:30 p.m., an Isaac, ‘m’, from the village of Kuraje, Ngaski LGA, went to the home of a Bahago Kofa ‘m’ of the same address and macheted him with an ax on head for suspecting he was a witch. As a result, the victim died while receiving treatment. The suspect has confessed to the crime and the investigation into the case is ongoing,” the commissioner said.
Police also arrested suspects behind the break-in at a RIFAN warehouse in Suru town where they allegedly stole water pumps, sprayers, fertilizers and herbicides worth more than $11. million naira.
“During the investigation, a Faruku Bello, ‘m’, from Suru was arrested for helping the thieves carry the stolen items. When questioned, he mentioned a certain Sani Umar, Umar Musa, Alh Nura Abdullahi and Mustapha Abubakar, all ‘m’, of Birnin Kebbi and Gwandu LGAS respectively, all of whom were later arrested and confessed to committing the crime”,
“Investigation further reveals that the said Alh Nura Abdullahi received all the stolen items and so far nine (9) water pumping machines and forty five (45) cartons of herbicidal chemicals have been recovered. An investigation is underway to recover the remaining stolen items, ”
Kontagora added that about eleven cows rusticated by bandits in Jambale village, Bena district in Danko/Wasagu, were recovered after a duel with police officers in combination with a vigilante and Yansakai members.
“On October 4, 2022 at around 07:15, information received reveals that armed bandits were sighted along Jambale village, Bena district of Danko / Wasagu LGA. As a result, a combined team of PMF, Vigilante and Yansakai personnel was immediately mobilized and engaged the bandits in a gun duel.As a result, the bandits abandoned the eleven (11) stolen cows and fled to the large adult plantations due to high security firepower. An investigation is underway with a view to apprehending the fugitive gunmen.”,
The police chief advised members of the public to refrain from taking legal action, but to refer all their grievances to the appropriate authorities for redress.
In the same vain, he appealed to the leaders of the NURTW and the NARTO to warn their members of the dangers of speeding in order to avoid loss of life and property.
“The Command expects maximum cooperation from the general public in providing helpful information or reporting suspicious persons to the nearest police station for prompt response.” he concluded.
