Supporters going to Kano for my victory should stop – Kano Governor-elect Abba Kabir Yusuf
Kano State Governor-elect Abba Kabir Yusuf told those traveling from other parts of the country to North West State after his victory to cut short their journey.
IIn a statement released Wednesday, March 22 by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Yusuf said those trekkers should instead pray for the ingenuity and guidance of his leadership to bring the dividends of democracy.
He said the prayers are a sufficient show of solidarity and celebration of his victory at the polls, not miles of trekking, especially given the state of insecurity in the country.
The statement read;
“While thanking supporters inside and outside Kano State, the Governor-elect urged the trekkers to cut short the trip as it would not reasonably contribute to solving many economic and social challenges that await the new government after taking office on May 29, 2023.
“The new Kano State government will be committed to a better future for the people, security, health, education, economy, infrastructure and the well-being of the elderly, civil servants and the private sector being the anthem of the Engr. Abba led the government.
“As the people-centered governor of Kano, Engr. Abba tasked everyone to be on deck to ensure the actualization of Kwankwasiyya and NNPP’s vision for responsive leadership that works for everyone in the state.
