Speaker and Zamfara House of Assembly MP lose seats to PDP members
Zamfara State Assembly Speaker Nasiru Muazu Magarya, who is also a candidate for the All Progressives Congress assembly, lost his re-election bid in Zurmi West constituency to Bilyaminu Ismail of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).
RZurmi local government area official Muddasir Moriki said Magarya got 9,530 votes, while his opponent and PDP candidate, Ismail Muddasir got 11,213 votes.
Deputy Speaker of the House Musa Bawa Yankuzo and Deputy Leader of the House Nasiru Lawal Bungudu also lost their seats to Bello Maza-Waje and Bashiru Dan-Meri of the PDP respectively.
Comrade Alhassan Kanoma, Chairman of the House Committee on Basic Education, also lost his seat to Nasiru Abdullahi Maru of the PDP in Maru North Constituency.
