Soldiers arrest 4 thugs with weapons as they proceed to polling stations in Ogun
Four thugs were arrested with a gun and a knife as they made their way to polling stations in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.
The thugs were found to have been arrested in Sapon in Abeokuta-South Local Government Area as the gubernatorial and state house of assembly elections began on Saturday morning.
A soldier at the Sapon roadblock, who declined to give his name because he is not authorized to speak on the matter, told Punch that the thugs were arrested with dangerous weapons, including a gun fire and a knife.
He said, “When you see soldiers being tough on anyone, he’s not just punishing anyone.
“We arrested four people with guns and knives. What are they doing with the gun and the knife at the polling station?
“I ask you, can you tell me what a voter wants to do with a gun and a knife?
“If they escape the police, they cannot escape the soldiers; we will catch them.
