The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), which confirmed the incident, said that when agency officials arrived at the scene, they saw that a commercial bus with 14 passengers was on fire.

The Mazda bus registered KJA 699 GY allegedly caught fire due to the driver’s recklessness and excessive speed.

LASEMA permanent secretary Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu said while the driver escaped with some burns, three adult women were rescued and taken to Gbagada General Hospital while an adult man was taken picked up by LASAMBUS on the premises.

The remains were bagged by the Agency’s LRT paramedics responsible for LASAMBUS and turned over to the appropriate authorities.

Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu added;

“Arrangements have been made by LASTMA officials at the scene to remove the burned vehicle from the road.”
