President Buhari condemns killing of Imo traditional ruler, calls for investigation
President Buhari has condemned the killing of Eze Ignitus Asor, the traditional leader of the Obudi-Agwa community in Oguta local government area in Imo state.
LIB previously reported that thugs invaded the community, killing the traditional leader and two other residents on Monday November 14. The suspects reportedly came in four vehicles and two motorbikes which also had an accomplice who carried out the task with them. They disguised themselves as people in distress, entered the monarch’s palace before carrying out the attack.
In a statement released by his media assistant, Garba Shehu, the president expressed his sadness over the incident and said he had ordered state security agencies to investigate the despicable act and s ensure perpetrators face the wrath of the law.
Committing to his family, friends, the Obudi-Agwa community, as well as all those affected by the attacks, the President prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
He also acknowledged the strong efforts made by the Imo State government to improve the security situation and encourages all residents and citizens of Imo to strongly support the collective efforts of state actors and members of the local community to ensure everyone’s safety.
