A 20-year-old man residing in Zololo community of Jos North Local Government Area in Plateau State is believed to have committed suicide.
According to reports, the deceased identified as Ibrahim Babangida committed suicide in his bedroom on Sunday, November 20.
A local resident who spoke to reporters said;
“A 20 year old boy named Ibrahim Babangida who resides in Majema par Zololo in Jos North Local Government today 20/11/2022 hanged himself in his family compound.
A local resident confirmed that when the incident happened, the dead body of the victim was taken to the police station, Division C, and then taken to the police headquarters. There are tensions in the area as it has been alleged that the boy was killed by suspected thugs who engaged in sectarian activities.
Confirming the incident to reporters, State Police Public Relations Officer DSP Alfred Alabo said;
“The C Division DPD is investigating the matter, as we speak. They are at the hospital getting doctor’s confirmation.
Although they called it suicide, we don’t call it a name like that. Although it looks like a suicide, the police still need to investigate to make sure it was a suicide and not that someone murdered him and made it look like a suicide. The police are investigating, further, the evolution will be communicated to you.
