Katsina State Police Command arrested a suspected notorious drug trafficker with 180 packets of dried leaves suspected to be Cannabis Sativa.
The suspect, Abdurrazaq Ajibade, residing behind the Magama restaurant in Katsina metropolis, was arrested while trying to smuggle prohibited items into the Niger Republic.
Parading the suspect to command headquarters on Friday, September 16, police spokesman Gambo Isah said Ajibade confessed to participating in the deal six consecutive times, each of which offered him the sum of 60,000 naira as commission. .
“The command managed to arrest one Abdulrazak Ajibade, ‘m’, from Kofa community, Kwara State, a notorious drug trafficker suspected of being in possession of large quantities of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis. During the investigation, the suspect confessed to committing the offence. The investigation is ongoing,” the PPRO said.
During questioning, the suspect also stated that he was arrested at “Welcome to Katsina Gate”.
“I am not the dealer of the prohibited items, mine is just to deliver the items to their destination. I am only acting as an intermediary. It was a Hambali from Ogbomosho who hired my services,” the suspect said. .
