Police arrest nine suspected bank hackers in Delta

Nine suspected hackers have been arrested by the Delta State Police Command.

Delta State Police Commissioner Mohammed Ali confirmed this on Monday, November 14, while speaking to reporters.

He said;

“In an effort to get rid of the syndicate which uses tricycles to steal passengers’ valuables, phones, hack into their accounts and withdraw their money.

“I have ordered D-Coy Squad Command to investigate and ensure that the union members are arrested and brought to justice.

“As per my directive, the team launched an intelligence led investigation, stormed their hideout behind the Point Hotel in Iyiagu Estate, Anambra State and arrested an Ikechukwu Ayigbe, 26 years old, who is the gang’s bank account hacker.

“Others arrested were Tobi James, 30, who bought the stolen phones and sent them to Lagos, and seven other suspects, with more than 60 SIM cards recovered.”

Ali urged members of the public to provide useful and timely information that would help the command in the fight against crime, adding that their identity would be treated with utmost confidentiality.
