Jacob Obunga, popularly known as Otile Brown, was born on March 21, 1994 in Kisumu but grew up in Miritini, Mombasa, Kenya. He was born into a family of four children consisting of three brothers and one sister. Otile Brown was the last child in the family.
We don’t know much about Otile Brown’s upbringing, but he attended school in the coastal region and we’re unsure of his higher education before venturing into the entertainment industry.
Otile Brown discovered his talent at the age of 13 and started writing songs and singing in Mombasa before moving to Nairobi in 2012.
He went to Citizen Radio to give Parent Willy M Tuva his CD while waiting for him, he met slut, and they discussed about his talent and his future in the industry.
Bitch’o advised him to change his genre of rapping and focus more on singing, he had noticed him as a better singer than rapping. Bitch’o was ready to sponsor him and told him to choose between Dr. Eddie and wyre as its producer. Otile Brown chose Dr. Eddie. Bitch’o sponsored his first project, which Dr. Eddie product.
Dr. Eddie sign Otile Brown under his label, Dreamland Musical Entertainment. He has released countless songs under the label. On June 3, 2026, he released a single titled “Imaginary Love” featuring the Kenyan rapper, Khaligrapher Jones. The song gained attention and was played on several radio stations.
He left the label in March 2017 and became an independent artist, but Dr. Eddie was unhappy with his decision. He forbade her from performing any songs he produced under the label. Otile Brown did not reveal why he left the label.
The best of Otile Brown
Otile Brown released his first album titled “The Best of Otile Brown” in April 2017. The hit single “Imaginary Love”, featuring the Kenyan rapper Khaligrapher Joneswas part of the album.
He launched his own record label, dubbed “Just in LoveMusic” singer Jovial was signed but didn’t last long and was released the same year in June.

Otile Brown officially released another album titled “Just in Love Album” on June 3, 2020, which was launched on Boomplay with 11 songs in collaboration with different artists from Kenya and Tanzania. The album went viral across East and Central Africa.
Otile Brown was in a relationship with Vera Sidikaa Kenyan socialite but they left in August 2018. But currently he is dating an Ethiopian girlfriend called Nabayetaka Nabi.
