Ohaneze Ndigbo rejects presidential election result, says it will be challenged in court
Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide rejected the results of the presidential election of February 25, 2023, proclaimed by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
On Wednesday March 1, INEC declared Tinubu the winner of the election.
In a statement released, the organization’s national vice president, Damian Okeke-Ogene, said the published results were marred by “monumental irregularities” and that the commission failed to follow its guidelines in conducting the elections. . He urged Nigerians to remain calm, adding that the last one might not have been heard from the 2023 presidential election.
“Once the voting and the proclamation of the results are completed, other processes will follow. I am sure that many Nigerians will, on their own initiative, go to court to challenge the outcome of the exercise. Many people did not accept the statement and many still do not believe they have an elected president.
This is the worst election conducted by INEC. Imagine our president, Muhammadu Buhari, saying during one of the campaigns that Bola Tinubu is the next president at a time when the election has not taken place, which indicates that the election was even rigged before it does not unfold.
INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu was busy promising Nigerians that their votes would count and the votes would be transmitted from the polling stations to the INEC server, only for the commission to do everything manually with the practices resulting corruption. It turned out that many Nigerians voted but their votes did not count which was frustrating.
