NSCDC uncovers building used to store illegally refined petrol products in Rivers

A building used as a dumping ground to store illegally refined petroleum products has been discovered by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in the Obio Akpor local government area of ​​the state.

NSCDC Rivers State Commander Michael Ogar led the command’s anti-vandalism unit and reporters to the building at Egbelu, off Cornerstone Junction on the axis of Ozuoba, which has an underground tank containing unquantified liters of illegally refined diesel, a plastic tank containing approximately 3,500 liters of diesel, two waste disposal trucks with integrated tanks and a pumping machine.

The compound is now sealed off and staffed as the command continues to hunt down the culprits until they are caught and prosecuted.

The Rivers State Command of the NSCDC has also arrested 19 suspects from different locations in the state due to their involvement in oil theft and illegal trade in petroleum products.
