Not all cocaine substances recovered from the Lagos warehouse were destroyed
National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi has dismissed reports that the agency destroyed all of the 1,855 tonnes of cocaine worth over $278 million (N194b+) seized in a warehouse in Lagos on September 19.
On Tuesday, September 27, the agency shared photos and videos of the banned substance being destroyed in Lagos. Many Nigerians, including rapper Falz, condemned the agency for destroying the substance. He wrote;
“This administration must really think we’re idiots sha!! What is this lamba that the NDLEA gives with this cocaine seizure saga? Dem dey burn evidence? ” Falz wrote on Twitter
Babafemi, while denying the allegations, said 27.5kg of cocaine had been secured for use in the pursuit of the five men arrested in the warehouse raid. Read his tweet below
