Nigerians react to actor Deyemi Okanlawon’s open letter to Eti-Osa Labor Party candidate, Thaddeus Attah, in which he asks the politician to explain who he is and his qualifications
Nigerians react to an open letter from the Nollywood actor, Deyemi Okanlawon, wrote to Labor Party candidate Eti-Osa, Thaddeus Attah, who won the election on Saturday February 25.
Thaddeus beat popular entertainer, Bankole Wellington aka BankyW to clinch the seat. Some Nigerians were shocked by the outcome of the results as many thought Banky W would win. However, the results came in and Thaddeus, who is in the same party as Peter Obi, won the election.
In an open letter posted on his page today, actor Deyemi Okanlawon congratulated Thaddeus on his election victory. He did, however, point out that he voted for Banky W and believes Banky W would have been the best candidate for the job. He went on to state that prior to his victory at the polls, many people did not know Thaddeus or his background. Deyemi has invited Thaddeus to join him for a live session this weekend where he will address concerns he and other residents have about the Labor representative.
Many Nigerians, however, used Deyemi’s comments section to castigate him. They argue that the letter is condescending to Thaddeus. According to them, Deyemi and many others apparently wrote off Thaddeus despite not giving him a chance to prove himself.
