Nigerians are angry and many parties will be shocked in 2023

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State again shared his thoughts on the upcoming general election in 2023.

Speaking to reporters in Benin, capital of Edo State, on Tuesday, September 20, Obaseki noted that Nigerians are angry and many political parties will be shocked by the outcome of the general election.

The Edo State Governor further pleaded with the politicians to keep their promises to the voters.

He said;

“Nigerians are fed up with the inefficiencies and failures of government officials and other representatives and will dismiss them if nothing is done to change the narrative. No political party today can beat their chests and say they are going to win or have a clear victory in the next elections in the country.

“People are watching and the only reason people will leave their homes for the polls is because there is a reason to vote for or against something. If they haven’t taken advantage of it, they are unlikely to come out on Election Day.

“For us, as a government and representatives of our people, we would be hurting ourselves if we ignored the changes to come and believed that things were still the same. We will all be shocked as we begin to see it. People are now beginning to realize that they must demand more from members of government and from those who manage their resources and their common good; people will vote according to their choice or their interests.

“We are lucky in Edo State because we saw it coming and laid the roadmap and anticipated it, but our challenge is that a lot of people don’t believe it, thinking that we have time and things will still be business as usual. ”
