Nigerian woman files for divorce 9 months after marrying man 2 months after meeting him on TikTok
TikToker, Jasmine Chioma Okafor, known as “Ibu’s daughter”, revealed that she was separated from the man she met on TikTok and got married two months later.
Jasmine went viral earlier this year when she announced she was getting married to a US-based man she met on TikTok a few weeks prior.
The man proposed to her the same day he flew to Nigeria to meet her for the first time.
Their marriage celebrated in February (read here).
Just last week, Jasmine announced on TikTok that she was expecting twin girls with her hubby.
Today, November 14, she took to Instagram to reveal that they are going their separate ways.
She added that she had filed for divorce.
She wrote, “It was the best 9 months of my life! I have no regrets! I won’t settle for a lie regardless! I forgive easily, I remember asking you several questions about this topic before we start! your mother, really broke me! A foundation built on a little lie won’t hold! I love the way you loved me! But I hate the fact that you never told me about your divorce or your kids! Moving on, I don’t think I want anyone else! I’m just gonna love you from a distance!”
She explained that he had three adult daughters and that he hid it from her.
