Nigerian caregiver jailed in UAE for staying 30 minutes in bathroom which led to her student cutting off her ears
A Nigerian woman identified as Patience Sopuru Davidson has been jailed for alleged neglect in the United Arab Emirates.
A Twitter user @Chetexxx5, who claimed to be a family member, revealed this to Dubai Police on Monday, November 14, 2022.
According to Chetaxxx5, her younger sister, who works as a caregiver at the Al Ain Disability Care and Rehabilitation Center in Abu Dhabi, was sentenced to one month in prison for spending too much time in the bathroom, which which led to one of his students cutting off his ears. .
Sopuru was due to be released on October 15, 2022 but they have not heard from her since then.
“Salam halaikum, I want to let you know about my younger sister who is a caregiver at Al-Ain Care and Rehabilitation Center, on September 15, 2022, we received a message from her ex-colleague that she was arrested for staying 30 minutes in the bathroom and one of her students cut off her own ears,” the tweet read.
“She was taken to Al-Ain police station and immediately imprisoned for a month for her negligence, October 15 is supposed to be a month, until today we haven’t heard from my sister , HR does not answer us
“His passport has been seized, no call, messages from HR to us his family till date, and any attempt to hear from my sister is blocked by their supervisor who from day one has swore to frustrate her in this job. My sister’s name is DAVIDSON PATIENCE SOPURUCHI. Please help me.”
Dubai Police responded to the tweets, asking Chetaxxx5 to send a DM.
