Former Nigeria international Daniel Amokachi has blamed the Super Eagles’ problems on ‘bad coaches and bad players’.
Amokachi’s comment comes after Nigeria lost 4-0 to Portugal in an international friendly played in Lisbon last week.
Nigeria lost two more friendlies and failed to qualify for the World Cup.
Amokachi has now felt that the Super Eagles are struggling because of the poor choice of players and coaches.
“When you watch the Portugal game it tells you we don’t even deserve to be there. [World Cup]Amokachi said
“There’s one, two or three different angles you have to look at it from, bring in the right coach, bring in the right players and create the right environment to play.
“We always bring in the wrong coaches to manage a country like Nigeria, we always bring in the wrong players.”
In the three international friendlies in September and November, Nigeria were beaten 2-1 by Algeria before a 2-0 loss to Costa Rica, although only players from the Nigerian Professional Football League faced the country South American. They then lost to Portugal 2-0.
