Lagos musician and friend allegedly kill Bureau de change operators after inviting them to their home in lekki

Lagos State Police are currently on the trail of a musician identified as Collins Etaredafe, aka Top Boy, for allegedly killing two unidentified Bureau-De-Change operators at his residence in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

Punch reports that Etaredafe, who was with an as yet unidentified friend, invited the BDC operators to his apartment under the guise of changing a few dollars. Following their entry into the building on Saturday 18 March, the BDC operators were reportedly killed and their bodies dumped into a drain at the front of the Etaredafe residence.

A facility manager in the area, Paul Omotosho, claimed the building official informed him that some neighbors, upon discovering the corpses in the drain, had traced drops of blood to the Etaredafe apartment.

“I knew Etaredafe through his girlfriend, Evelyn, about three years ago when she contacted me to say he needed an apartment. got my number. He called me, told me he was staying in Delta State and wanted to book a short term apartment. That’s how he became a client Sometimes he claimed he did not know Lagos and sent money to my account to help him get items and send them to him In February 2022 he said he wanted to secure an apartment where his mother would live in lagos he said he wanted to surprise her with the apartment as she had never been to lagos before.

I had to contact another agent who helped me get the apartment. After that, the agent sent me a form to fill in the contact details of the occupant but when I asked for the contact details of his mum, he told me that she had no means of identification. Out of confidence I had in him as a regular customer, I foolishly provided contact details for someone to hold the place for him and since then I believe his mother had moved in.”

Omotosho said he was at home when the officer in charge of the apartment where Etaredafe lived in place of his mother called him to inform him that the musician had allegedly killed the BDC operators.

“The agent told me that Etaredafe had killed two people in his apartment. He also said he threw their corpses outside the gate and fled. The agent said the blood of the deceased victims was traced to his apartment and later discovered that those killed by the musician were currency exchange operators. I was told he invited them to his apartment because he wanted to change dollars before he killed them. he said

In a bid to trace Etaredafe’s whereabouts, Omotosho said he contacted his girlfriend who said she did not know any addresses of his relatives.

“Later she called me on Monday and asked if I had heard that Etaredafe had killed two people in his house and fled. She said they only met on social media and she didn’t know where he or his family lived.

Confirming the incident, State Police Command spokesman SP Benjamin Hundeyin said

“The main suspects are on the run. No part of the bodies of the deceased victims was cut. The case is at SCID and progressing. The security man is in custody and is involved in the investigation.
