Many fear death as explosion rocks Rivers State
An explosion occurred on Friday morning March 3 in Rumuekpe under Emohua Local Government Area.
The explosion would have emanated from the sampling point of a pipeline.
According to reports, a driver had loaded one of the buses on site with crude oil packaged in bags.
When he started the vehicle’s engine to clear the oil product from the scene, it triggered an explosion.
The number of victims is believed to be over a dozen, but no official confirmation at press time.
The driver and other people nearby are among the victims.
