Man killed while settling N700 dispute

A 59-year-old safety guard, Bamiduro Adewulo, was stoned to demise by his “private assistant” Fumilayo Asojo as he settled a dispute over a N700 debt.

Adewulo, who was injured after being stoned whereas settling a dispute between Asojo and one other man over N700, was rushed to hospital the place he died two days later.

Brother of the deceased, Adewole advised police that Asojo hit his boss with a stone on the top after calling on him to let go.

He mentioned;

“I did not imagine it till I noticed Duro’s lifeless physique within the morgue.

“The defendant was identified all through the town to be the deceased’s private assistant.”

Asojo, who has now been arraigned on a cost akin to homicide, dedicated the offense on December 28, 2022 in Ute, Owo Native Authorities Space, Ondo State.

The Presiding Justice of the Peace, RO Yakubu, didn’t settle for the defendant’s plea for the offense which contravened Sections 319 and 355 of the Penal Code, Cap 37 Vol. II Ondo State Legal guidelines, 2006.

Shortly after remanding the defendant to the Olokuta Correctional Middle, pending the DPP’s opinion, Yakubu adjourned the case till March 19 for quotation.
