LP and PDP kick as APC wins 26 of 27 House of Assembly seats in Imo
The Labor Party and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State have rejected the results of the state House of Assembly election held in the state on Saturday, March 18 , after the All Progressives Congress (APC) won 26 of the 27 seats in the Imo State House of Assembly. The governor of the state, Hope Uzodinma is from the APC.
The returning officer for the election said APC had won 26 seats so far. Ahiazu Mbaise’s only result has yet to be declared as the election in the region has been declared inconclusive.
Both the Labor Party and the state People’s Democratic Party described the election as a sham and dismissed the results. Disgruntled party members accused INEC officials of colluding with state security agents as well as the ruling APC to manipulate the election results in favor of the party.
Reacting to the allegation, the APC in the state described the outcome of the election as the true wishes of the Imo people and the result of the commitment and development contributions of the ruling party led by Governor Hope Uzodimma to the welfare and welfare of IMO Citizens.
The APC has described the Labor Party and PDP allegations as false, saying they are sore losers whose claims to win the election are a figment of their imagination.
