Lagos Police Commissioner meets with Falz, Macaroni and others on security concerns ahead of gubernatorial election

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, on Wednesday, March 1, hosted key state stakeholders including rapper Folarin Falana, also known as Falz, and sketch artist, Debo Adebayo, better known as Mr. Macaroni.

State Police Public Relations Officer SP Benjamin Hundeyin said the meeting held at the command headquarters was called to address security concerns within the state.

The statement read;

“Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa today convened a meeting of political parties, traditional leaders, religious/youth/market leaders, media influencers and other opinion makers at POWA Hall at Command Headquarters, Ikeja Lagos.

“The meeting which was convened to address security issues in the state after the presidential election and in view of the upcoming gubernatorial election provided an opportunity for the people of Lagos to voice their concerns, to highlight areas of security need and recommend strategies that would help curb any form of violence within the state.

“The Commissioner of Police reminded influential people that they have an important role to play by setting an example and that they can help ensure the maintenance of peace by speaking out against any form of violence or aggression. .

Owohunwa, who instructed the stakeholders to avoid violence and preach peace, tolerance and the rule of law to their supporters, added that the Command will not hesitate to protect law-abiding citizens and deal with troublemakers according to law.
