Kano government suspends dusk-to-dawn curfew
The Kano state government has suspended the imposed dawn-to-dusk curfew due to tensions based on the expected results of the gubernatorial and state assembly elections.
JState Information and Home Affairs Commissioner Muhammad Garba, who made the announcement, called on commercial banks, civil servants and people in the state to go about their normal business. He also thanked the people of the state for their cooperation during the curfew period.
The statement read;
“The decision to lift the curfew was made after careful consideration of the situation and the relative calm across the state. We urge people to go about their lawful business without fear of assault or harassment.
“We appreciate the cooperation of the population during the curfew period. We urge them to continue to maintain peace and order.
