Joeboy Reacts To Singer Asa’s N300m Copyright Infringement Notice

Joeboy, whose birth name is Joseph Akinwale Akinfenwa-Donus, has reacted to the copyright infringement notice sent to him by award-winning singer Asa.

In August 2022, Joeboy released his single titled “Contour”, which was produced by ace beat maker Tempoe.

A few weeks after the song’s release, Joeboy received a copyright infringement notice.

According to the notice, “Contour” infringed the copyright of a musical composition that was created by Asa during a recording session that took place on September 22, 2020, with Tempoe present at said session.

The notice, which was served on September 30, 2022, demanded that Joeboy remove the song from all digital platforms within twenty-four hours, issue a written apology, pay N300 million and award Asa a publishing share of sixty percent.

Joeboy refused to comply and he took to Instagram to share the opinion while challenging Asa to take action.

He wrote, “Because I always do love and light you think I’m soft meat.”

He added: “You said I had 24 hours, it’s been 48 hours, do something.”
