JAMB dismisses two employees for misconduct
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) fired two of its employees for gross misconduct.
The council’s head of public affairs and protocol, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, who made this known in a statement on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, gave the names of the dismissed staff members as Bilyaminu Ishaku and Andrew Anebi Candidus, from his Makurdi, Benue State Office.
The statement accused the fired staff of falsifying documents.
The board noted that their removal took effect on February 27, 2023.
“Following your appearance before the Senior Management Disciplinary Committee and the subsequent recommendations of the committee, I am instructed to convey to you the Honorable Minister for Education’s approval of your dismissal from service of the council effective February 27 2023 for gross negligence,” the statement read in part.
According to the statement, the dismissal was in accordance with Civil Service Rule 030401, which defines gross misconduct as a “specific act of very serious wrongdoing and inappropriate behavior, which is contrary to the image of the service and which may investigated and if proven, may result in dismissal.
Staff have been instructed to submit their ID cards and all other Council assets in their possession to the State Coordinator, JAMB Office, Benue State, for submission to the Director of Human Resources, with immediate effect.
