It’s never a good sign in a presidential campaign when a candidate feels the need to prove they’re still alive.
Jonathan Rosenthal, Africa editor of international news platform The Economist, reacted to All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Tinubu by sharing a workout video to dispel the death rumour.
Tinubu had shared a video of himself on a spin bike with the caption;
Many have said that I am dead; others claim that I withdrew from the presidential campaign. Well no. This is the reality: I am strong, I am healthy and I am READY to serve Nigerians from day one.
Reacting to this, Rosenthal said it’s never a good sign in a presidential campaign when a candidate feels the need to prove they’re still alive.
Citing Tinubu’s workout video, he tweeted;
Oh dear, it’s never a good sign in a presidential campaign when a candidate feels the need to prove they’re still alive. #NigeriaDecides2023
