INEC declares APC’s Bassey Otu winner of Cross River gubernatorial election
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Cross River, Bassey Otu, the winner of the March 18 poll in the state.
According to results released by INEC returning officer Professor Teddy Charles, Otu secured a total of 258,619 votes to defeat his closest rival and a sitting senator, Sandy Onor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). ) which surveyed 179,636 people.
So far, the results of 18 polls of governors have been announced. The APC takes the lead with 12 states, the PDP with five states and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) with one state.
