I won?t insult Tinubu to show I don

Former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose said he would not insult All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Tinubu to show he did not support his ambition.

Speaking in an interview on Channels Television, Fayose noted that despite the political differences some northern governors or politicians have with President Muhammadu Buhari, they do not resort to abuse.

He described Tinubu as a Yoruba leader, while adding that he respects Atiku Abubakar of the PDP in the same way as the leader of the APC.

Fayose said;

“Let me tell you: if people expect me to mistreat Tinubu to show that I don’t support him, I won’t.

“If the only way to demonstrate to everyone that I am Bola Tinubu’s enemy is to present myself as a Yoruba man and insult Bola Tinubu, I will never do it.

“Listen to me, Atiku Abubakar and Bola Tinubu are rulers over 70 years old, why were they sitting together rubbing wits and not carrying cutlass against each other? Count me out of this (insulting Tinubu). “

“I’m not going to insult Atiku. I will not insult Tinubu.

The former governor also said that he supports the southern presidency since President Buhari is about to complete his second term and hails from the northern region.
