Gunmen kill traditional leader and chiefs in Imo State
Gunmen invaded the Obudi Agwa community in Oguta Local Government Area in Imo State on Monday, November 14.
The attack killed five people, including the traditional leader of the community, Ignitus Asor.
Armed youths stormed the king’s palace where a community affair was being discussed and opened fire indiscriminately.
The traditional chief, two palace chiefs and two other members of the community died instantly.
Many others were injured, including the traditional Prime Minister, Chief Stephen Ajoku.
The criminals also stormed the nearby community of Mgbala and shot dead a pregnant woman and a local security guard.
The thugs fled on their motorbikes and vehicles after the attack.
Also confirming the incident, state police public relations officer Michael Abattam said police were already on the trail of the thugs with the clues in their possession.
“Yes, it’s true but the police are already investigating the case, we already have clues and we are on their trail,” Abattam said.
