Gunmen attack Oyo police station, kill DCO and suspect

Unknown gunmen attacked Igangan Police Station in Ibarapa North Local Government Area in Oyo State, killing the Divisional Crime Officer, DCO, and a suspect who was in custody.

A senior police officer, who confided in Vanguard, said the divisional police officer, DPO, an inspector and some suspects were shot dead in the attack which happened on Tuesday evening September 27. 2022.

State Police Command spokesman SP Adewale Osifeso confirmed the incident on Wednesday morning.

“Police Commissioner, CP, is on his way to the scene. We are already in Oke Ogun as we speak,” the PPRO said.
