Gunmen abduct Imo APGA Assembly candidate

Gunmen have kidnapped Nduka Anyanwu, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for Ahiazu Mbaise constituency in next year’s Imo State Assembly elections, reports The Sun.

Anyanwu was abducted on Tuesday morning November 22, 2022 while on his way to finalize arrangements for his pit attendants in Ahiazu.

Sources close to the party told the publication that gunmen attacked the APGA candidate as he walked to the officers at his stand.

“We are calling on security guards to follow them. We are calling on the public who may have useful information to notify any nearby police station. This happened around 9am today, Tuesday November 22, 2022,” the source said.

According to the source, efforts are being made to obtain his release.
