Gunman in custody after three dead, two injured at University of Virginia
The University of Virginia student who allegedly killed three people and injured two others is in custody, police said Monday (November 14th).
Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. was arrested after a 12-hour manhunt following the Sunday night November 13 shooting.
On Monday morning, the police announced that he was armed, dangerous and still at large (read here).
He has now been arrested and charged with three counts of second degree murder and three counts of using a handgun to commit a felony.
Police say the three dead were members of the football team, two of whom were found inside a bus after returning from a school outing to see a play.
“I just need a moment to thank God and breathe a sigh of relief,” University of Virginia Police Chief Tim Longo said at a news conference Monday as he learned that Jones had been apprehended.
