Government polls: if they give money, collect but vote for your candidate
President Buhari reportedly advised Nigerians to collect all the money given to them by politicians to sway their votes and then vote for their preferred candidate.
Vanguard reports that the President said this after casting his vote in Voting Unit 003, Sarkin Yara A in Daura, Katsina State.
The president, who spoke briefly to reporters in English and Hausa after casting his vote, said his administration had preached against vote buying and the monetization of politics, calling on politicians to refrain from such acts.
“If they (the politicians) still give you money, collect it, but vote for your favorite candidates,” President Buhari said.
