Four Lagos-based armed robbery suspects arrested in Ogun (pictured)
On March 13, officers from the Ogun State Police Command arrested four members of a Lagos-based gang of robbers who had been terrorizing the Ode-Remo area of Ogun State in recent years. time.
The suspects identified as 24-year-old Habeeb Salaudeen, 30-year-old Ezekiel Jayesimi, 22-year-old Olamilekan Teniola and 25-year-old Olaitan Sonibare, were arrested following a distress call received by officers attached to Ode-Remo Divisional Headquarters around 2:30 a.m., that armed robbers numbering about seven invaded a dwelling house at COTCO road, Ode-Remo, and dispossessed the inhabitants of their property.
“On the distress call, DPO Ode-Remo Division, CSP Fasogbon Olayemi quickly led his men to the scene, on arriving there they engaged the thugs in a firefight, but the robbers managed to escape in a white Rav 4 car which they came with. Luck however turned against them when they were accosted by police officers in Warewa who arrested them after seeing the bullet hole on their vehicle. The thieves then abandoned the car and fled. They were technically dragged to the Mushin neighborhood of Lagos where four of them were apprehended. ”
Oyeyemi said the suspects all confessed to the commission of the crime.
He said the items recovered from them included 4 I phones and thirteen Android phones.
Oyeyemi added that the state police commissioner, CP Frank Mba, ordered that the suspects be transferred to state criminal investigation departments for a discreet investigation.
