Former Kano adviser shot dead for alleged theft of ballot boxes
A former Getso ward councilor, Ibrahim Nakuzama, was reportedly shot dead for allegedly stealing ballot boxes.
According to the Daily Trust report, Nakuzama was shot dead by security guards at Gwarzo local government area in Kano, during the gubernatorial and state assembly candidate elections on Saturday, March 18, 2023 .
An associate of the deceased, who wished to remain anonymous, said he could not give details of the incident as he had not yet recovered from the shock.
It was found that earlier in the day, the deceased had brought refreshments to agents of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) at his polling station.
His relatives said there was no way he was trying to steal ballot boxes.
Nakuzama is survived by two wives and six children.
