Abubakar also told the publication that even before the resumption of academic activities, some of the rural schools across the axis were facing security threats. He added “we expected that before the resumption, the government would be able to put in place safety measures in these schools”.

The PTA chairman, who revealed he was happy with the FCT administration’s directive for school resumption, further said that the administration should have put in place safety measures in these rural schools. .

He called on the FCT administration to liaise with community leaders to mobilize local vigilantes to protect affected rural schools to facilitate the resumption of school activities.
